Sunflower seeds

Crowned with bright yellow petals similar to the sun's rays, the sunflower head always turns after the sun (hence the name of the flower). Its dark center is filled with numerous seeds arranged like a honeycomb (see photo). Externally, sunflower seeds are a small triangular drupe with a hard leathery black shell, under which a light core is hidden. It is the kernel that is eaten. The famous sunflower oil is also squeezed out of it, without which it is impossible to imagine Russian cuisine.
